Midland's Myron Leslie led off the eighth with his sixth home run of the season.

Corpus Christi starter Sergio Perez allowed two hits and struck out six in six shutout innings. Hooks reliever Ryan McKeller allowed Leslie's homer.

Midland starter Andrew Bailey (1-3) allowed five runs and eight hits in six innings, but he struck out nine. RockHounds reliever Chris Farley allowed five runs and four hits in two-thirds of an inning.

The same two teams conclude their four-game series at 6:30 p.m. today at Citibank Ballpark.
