>> Men's Soccer -- Falcons play at home today: The UTPB men's soccer team, which is 4-0 for the first time in program history, will look to extend its winning streak at 1 p.m. today against visiting St. Mary's in its Heartland Conference opener.

The Falcons are ranked seventh in the NCAA Division II South Central Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and take on a Rattler squad that lost to No. 1 Midwestern State in its season opener.

St. Mary's (0-2 overall, 0-1 conference), located in San Antonio, is coming off a 2-0 loss to Newman University on Friday in Wichita, Kan.

UTPB has received the production its expected from seniors Carlos Guillen (one goal, one assist) and Luis Paiva (two goals, one assists) and goalkeeper Gage Peterson (15 saves, two shutouts).

But the Falcons have also benefited from a newcomer, as freshman Nasser Abraham has a team-high three goals on seven shots. He scored both goals in the Falcons' 2-0 win in the home opener Thursday against Schreiner.
