Texas League Baseball: Two RockHounds named postseason all-stars

Grant Green and former Midland RockHounds teammate Jermaine Mitchell were named to the Texas League’s Postseason All-Star Team this week.

Green, a shortstop and center fielder who was selected as a utility player, entered the week with a .295 batting average and enjoyed a 15-game hitting streak from July 30 through Aug. 17. He also was the most valuable player of the All-Star Futures Game.

Mitchell, an outfielder, led the Texas League in batting average, hits, triples, on-base percentage and total bases when he was promoted to Triple-A Sacramento on July 2.
