Texas League baseball: RockHounds win in 11
Comments 0MIDLAND Alex Valdez led off the bottom of the 11th inning with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Carter as the Midland RockHounds beat Corpus Christi 7-6 in Texas League baseball action at Citibank Ballpark.
The RockHounds, who won for the second time in three outings, rallied from an early 4-0 deficit and held on to force extra innings after Corpus Christi tied the game 6-6 in the top of the ninth.
Valdez doubled to start the bottom of the 11th and moved to third on a Matt Sulentic single. The bases were loaded when Corey Wimberly singled and, after a strikeout, Carter drove Valdez in with his sacrifice fly.
Josh Donaldson led the RockHounds by going 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs.
The RockHounds (11-14, Texas League’s second half) and Hooks (10-15) conclude their series at 7 tonight at Citibank.
