Texas League baseball: Tough break for RockHounds
Comments 0 | Recommend 0MIDLAND The Midland RockHounds probably wanted to head into the All-Star break on a high note.
But the San Antonio Missions lit up RockHounds starter Daniel Barone to split a four-game series with a 7-4 win at Citibank Ballpark Monday night.
Barone gave up six hits and five runs in just 4 1/3 innings of work, a rough outing marred by a two-run homer by Lance Zawadski in the fifth inning.
Brian Joynt added a homer for San Antonio (41-35) in the seventh, and Logan Forsythe added an RBI groundout in the eighth.
Midland (41-35) tried to come back in the bottom of the ninth behind an RBI triple by Joshua Horton and an RBI groundout by Adrian Cardenas, but Matthew Spencer flew out with the bases loaded to end the game.
