WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Lady Falcons go for seventh straight

The UTPB women's basketball team will try to win its seventh straight game, and remain atop the Heartland Conference standings, when it travels to face Oklahoma Panhandle State at 5:30 p.m. today.

The Lady Falcons (17-6 overall, 7-2 conference), tied for first place with Newman, started their streak with a 112-80 win at home against Panhandle State on Jan. 21. The Aggies (4-19, 1-8) have lost nine of their last 10 games and allowed at least 100 points in nine of their last 11 games.

Guard Teisha King averages 10.5 points and a team-high 5.7 rebounds per game for UTPB. Teenie Kent leads Panhandle State with 11.0 points per game.
