Central Hockey League: Rapid City drops Odessa
RAPID CITY, S.D. The Odessa Jackalopes had an apparent game-tying goal waved off late in the third period and the Rapid City Rush completed a third-period comeback for a 7-5 victory at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
The Jackalopes led 3-0 in the second period and 5-3 entering the third period, but watched Rapid City score four goals in the third period to earn the victory between the conference leaders.
Odessa’s Dave Van Drunen had pushed the puck past Rush goaltender Danny Battochio with two minutes remaining to play, but referee Dan Dreger disallowed the goal.
The loss drops Odessa to 36-8-4 on the season, while Rapid City improves to 32-10-3.
The teams meet again at 8:05 p.m. tonight in South Dakota.
