Pro baseball: Broken collarbone keeps Peel sidelined
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Seminole graduate Aaron Peel continues to be sidelined with a broken collarbone that he suffered in the Arkansas Travelers' first win of the season, which came last month in Midland.
Peel is not expected to return until the end of June. Phil Elson, the director of broadcasting and media relations with Arkansas, wrote in an e-mail to The Odessa American that Peel is at least four to six weeks away from being healed.
Peel had one home run and three RBIs in Arkansas' first seven games - all losses - before getting hurt in the Travelers' 6-3 victory against Midland on April 12 at Citibank Ballpark.
Peel suffered the injury in the second inning in a collision with Midland catcher Anthony Recker when he tried to score from first base on a bases-loaded single. He was in the lineup as the designated hitter, and he had walked in his first two plate appearances.
Peel was batting .278 with five hits in 18 at-bats when he was injured. He had six walks and three strikeouts.
