>> Outlook: The last time the teams faced each other, the Mavericks, coached by former Jackalopes defenseman Scott Hillman, had yet to win a game in their inaugural season. Since its 0-5 start, however, Missouri has gone 29-20-5 and Hillman has the Mavericks one point in front of Tulsa (63-62) for the final playoff spot in the Northern Conference with five games left in the regular season. Unfortunately for Missouri, Odessa comes into the weekend doubleheader with plenty at stake as well as it is trying to capture the Southern Conference crown, the Governor’s Cup for the best overall record in the regular season and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs. … Jeff Christian leads Missouri with 73 points (28 goals, 45 assists), while Sebastien Thinel paces the Jackalopes with 89 (20-69).
