Comments 0 | Recommend 0

MIDLAND Midland third baseman Jesus Guzman hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the RockHounds beat Corpus Christi 4-3 on Tuesday night at Citibank Ballpark.

Midland first baseman Tommy Everidge completed an unassisted double play by catching a line drive by Corpus Christi's Tommy Manzella and then stepping on first to double up Drew Sutton to end the game.

Midland reliever Pat Currin (3-1) pitched two innings of scoreless relief after replacing starter Ryan Webb to start the sixth inning.

Andrew Carignan, who hit Sutton to put the tying run on base for Corpus Christi in the ninth, earned his first save with Midland since being promoted from Stockton on Friday.

Midland (14-11) will play host to Corpus Christi (15-10) at 6:30 p.m. today.
