Odessa College men’s basketball coach Tra Arnold confirmed Tuesday that sophomore guard Rio Adams is no longer with the team.
Adams, a Seattle native who played last year at the University of Kansas, played in 17 games for the Wranglers (19-3 overall, 7-2 WJCAC), averaging 12.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Adams last played for OC on Jan. 16 in an 87-86 loss to No. 24 Howard College.
Arnold declined to elaborate on the details regarding Adams’ departure from the team. Efforts to reach Adams were unsuccessful.
After leaving Kansas in April of last year, Adams transferred to Ohio University and then to Odessa College over the summer before ever playing a game at Ohio.
The Wranglers are tied with Howard and No. 5 South Plains College for first place in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference standings.
