Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Five different players scored goals while three recorded two-point games Friday as the Odessa Jackalopes opened a four-game homestand by beating Rio Grande Valley 5-2 in a Central Hockey League game at Ector County Coliseum.

It was the sixth consecutive victory for the Jackalopes (9-1-1, 19 points), who trailed 1-0 after the first period before roaring back with three goals in the second period — including two on power plays by Alex Dunn and Sebastien Thinel.

Paul Kelly and Mike Lesperance added goals while Kenny Bernard extended his goal-scoring streak to eight games by scoring a shorthanded, unassisted goal in the third period.

Also, Dave Van Drunen had an assist and a plus-three performance while Dominic Leveille, Lesperance and Thinel all had two-assist games.

The Jackalopes continue their homestand when they play host to Amarillo at 7:05 tonight.
