Texas League: RockHounds have the Wright stuff

MIDLAND Matt Wright has been electric lately.

Led by a dominant pitching performance from Wright, the Midland RockHounds shut out Frisco 6-0 on Thursday night at Citibank Ballpark to take hold of first place in the Texas League South Division second-half standings.

Wright (4-0) scattered five hits over seven scoreless innings, and the RockHounds (20-13) rapped out 14 hits against Frisco (19-14), the first-half champion.

Jemile Weeks had three hits in the leadoff spot. Alex Valdez and Shane Peterson each added two more hits.
