Softball: OHS gets Coppell in I-5A semifinals
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Odessa High softball team will face Coppell High at 6 p.m. Friday at Wells Field at Abilene Christian University in Game 1 of a best-of-3 Region I-5A semifinal series.
The second game will be played at noon Saturday, and the third game will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2 if necessary.
Odessa High (29-2-3), co-champions of District 3-5A, advanced to the matchup with wins - 6-1 and 3-1 - over Burleson on Thursday and Friday at Wells Field.
Coppell (25-13), the District 6-5A runner-up, beat Justin Northwest 6-2 and 10-4 on Saturday to win its series 2-1. Northwest won Game 1 on Friday night.
OHS defeated Coppell 2-1 in the McKinney Tournament earlier this season.
OHS has played at Wells twice in the playoffs.
