The UTPB Falcons men’s soccer team had plenty of opportunities Tuesday, but couldn’t cash any in.

Howard Payne University escaped Odessa with a 1-0 nonconference victory over the Falcons (2-3).

Eduardo Nava scored in the 87th minute to give Howard Payne the win, while Malcolm Framjee made five saves in goal.

The Falcons had 22 shots in the game and plenty of scoring opportunities in the second half, but could not convert while dropping their second consecutive match.

UTPB goalie Gage Peterson made two saves in the loss.
