Pro baseball: Parker gets red-hot start with Dragons
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Permian graduate Logan Parker has made a grand return to the Dayton Dragons after joining the Cincinnati Reds' Class A team in the Midwest League last week.
Parker, who had been in extended spring training in Florida, hit two home runs and drove in six runs in his first two games with Dayton.
Parker, a left-handed hitter, blasted a grand slam to cap a five-run first inning that got Dayton started toward a 7-6 win over the Great Lakes Loons in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday in Dayton. The homer was his only hit in two official at-bats, but he did walk once.
He went hitless in three at-bats in Game 2 of the doubleheader, which Dayton lost 5-2.
Parker hit a two-run homer that gave Dayton a 3-2 lead in the third inning against Great Lakes on Thursday, but the Loons rallied for a 9-6 win.
Parker, a first baseman, has three hits in 10 at-bats in his first three games this season.
Parker hit .269 with nine home runs and 50 RBIs in 115 games with Dayton in 2007.
