WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Trying to get back on track
The Odessa College women’s basketball team will attempt to avoid its first three-game losing streak of the season when it plays host to Howard College at 5:45 p.m. today.
The Lady Wranglers (17-8 overall, 6-3 Western Junior College Athletic Conference) have dropped two straight for just the second time this season after losing 59-53 to South Plains College on Feb. 13 and falling 73-61 Thursday at New Mexico Junior College.
Odessa College sits in third place in the league standings with three games remaining while Howard (2-6, 16-10) sits in sixth and trails South Plains College by 2.5 games for the fourth and final berth in the region tournament.
The Lady Wranglers beat the Lady Hawks 63-61 on Jan. 27 in Big Spring. Howard is coming off a 69-58 home overtime loss to Midland College on Thursday.
