COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Lady Wranglers lose first two games in Midland College Classic

MIDLAND The Odessa College softball team split a pair of games Friday against Vernon College and Blinn College in the Midland College Classic held at the Freddie Ezell Softball Complex.

The Lady Wranglers (13-7) started the day with a 9-1 five-inning victory against Vernon, but lost 3-2 against Blinn College.

Delia Saucedo earned the victory in the first game, pitching seven innings and striking out two, while teammate Rachel Thompson struck out four but took the loss in the second contest.

The Wranglers had a third game scheduled against Seminole State College (Okla.) which was not reported.

Odessa College will continue play in the Midland College Classic, playing games against Garden City Community College (Kan.) at 8:30 a.m. and Western Nebraska Community College at 11 a.m. today.
