Football: Permian graduate reaches All-Conference heights

Permian graduate Jamal Johnson has been selected to the 2009 American Southwest Conference First Team All-Conference squad.
Johnson, a senior defensive back at Sul Ross State, made 58 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, five pass break-ups, two interceptions and a sack.
Johnson was the only member of the Sul Ross State roster to net first-team honors. Kicker Michael Van Wagner, defensive tackle Zach Gideon and fullback Cameron Holliness each received second-team mention.
Sul Ross State finished 2-8 this season.
