Texas League Baseball: 'Hounds lose, stay a game ahead of Frisco
Comments 0CORPUS CHRISTI A day after completing a sweep of Frisco to take a one-game lead in the Texas League South Division standings, the Midland RockHounds lost to last-place Corpus Christi 4-3 at Whataburger Field.
Corpus Christi’s Michael Affronti tripled to center in the first inning and was knocked in on a sacrifice fly by David Cook to take a 1-0 lead and the Hooks never looked back.
Anthony Capra gave up three runs in six innings of work on seven hits and two walks. He also struck out seven for the RockHounds.
Jemile Weeks went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs in the game for Midland.
The RockHounds remain a game ahead of Frisco, after the RoughRiders lost 7-4 to San Antonio on Friday.
