Comments 0 | Recommend 0>> INDOOR FOOTBALL -- Stampede Express edge Roughnecks: In San Angelo, San Angelo defensive back Antonius Wise intercepted Odessa Roughnecks quarterback Ty Sellers in the end zone on the final play of the game to seal the Stampede Express' 75-72 victory Saturday night at the San Angelo Coliseum.
San Angelo (2-9) lost to Odessa 59-16 on May 31 at Ector County Coliseum.
Odessa (5-7) remains one game in front of Alaska and Katy for the final playoff spot in the Intense Football League.
Odessa missed seven extra points in the game, and one of the misses was returned for a two-point conversion.
San Angelo quarterback Brent Dearmon, making his debut with the team, threw nine touchdowns passes, including a 19-yard strike to Antwon Courington with 26 seconds remaining for the game-winning touchdown.
Odessa led 25-7 after one quarter and 53-37 at halftime, but San Angelo shut out the Roughnecks in the third quarter and pulled within 53-46 after 45 minutes.
San Angelo tied the game early in the fourth quarter, but Odessa regained the lead on Joel Babb's second touchdown. The Stampede Express returned a blocked extra point for a two-point conversion that left the Roughnecks ahead 59-55 with 10:04 left to play.
San Angelo scored on its next possession to take its first lead at 62-59.
The teams traded touchdowns the rest of the way.

>> Pro baseball -- 'Hounds clip Hooks: In Corpus Christi, the Midland RockHounds scored nine runs and needed them all, holding off Corpus Christi 9-8 on Saturday night in a Texas League baseball game at Whata-burger Field.
It was the third victory in the four-game series for Midland (31-29), which scored nine runs in each of the wins.
Midland scored four runs in the first inning, once in the third and four more in the sixth inning to take a 9-3 lead.
Corpus Christi scored four times in the bottom of the ninth to cut into Midland's lead, but RockHounds reliever Andrew Carignan struck out Ole Sheldon to end the game.

>> NHRA -- Bradshaw slips spot: In Joliet, Ill., Alan Bradshaw of Odessa, who didn't come out for a final pass after a three-hour rain delay Saturday, qualified sixth for today's Top Fuel eliminations at the NHRA's Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 Nationals at Route 66 Raceway.
Bradshaw made his qualifying pass (4.571 seconds at 319.14 mph) during Friday's first session. During the third round of qualifying, on Saturday, Bradshaw had his engine explode at the end of his run.
He will face Morgan Lucas, the 11th qualifier (4.613 seconds, 317.57 mph) in the first round this morning. Bradshaw has two No. 1 qualifying efforts this season, but has yet to make a final round.
Bradshaw was fifth after two rounds of qualifying on Friday.
