The Odessa Jackalopes gave away two third-period leads Tuesday but pulled out their eighth consecutive Central Hockey League victory by beating the Amarillo Gorillas 6-5 in a shootout at Ector County Coliseum.
Dominic Leveille and Mike Ramsay scored shootout goals as the Jackalopes won the extra session 2-0 and kept the best start in franchise history alive before an announced crowd of 1,965.

Also for the Jacks, Leveille had one goal and one assist before the shootout while Mike Lesperance and Sebastien Thinel had two assists each.
The Jackalopes close out their four-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. Thursday by playing host to Texas (5-6-2) in the rematch of last season’s CHL Southern Conference Finals. Texas won the seven-game series and then won the CHL title.
