Basketball: Inaugural West Texas Clinic set to go

The inaugural West Texas Basketball Clinic will take place from 9 a.m.-3:20 p.m. today at the Odessa College Sports Center.

Put together by Odessa High boys basketball coach James Johnson, the clinic will feature six coaches from different levels of basketball teaching a number of different techniques.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. and will be $25 for ECISD and Midland ISD coaches or $50 for all other coaches.

Howard College women's coach speaks at 9 a.m., Odessa College men's coach Dennis Helms follows at 10 a.m. and West Texas A&M women's coach Krista Gerlich will conduct her session at 11 a.m.

After a lunch break, Amarillo Palo Duro boys coach Jeff Evans resumes the clinic at 12:25 p.m. Midland College women's coach Ron Jones will speak at 1:25 p.m. and Russ Gilmore - coach of perennial boys power Hobbs, N.M. - wraps up the clinic at 2:25 p.m.
