College golf: Smith wins for the second time this season
SAN ANGELO Angelo State University senior Raelyn Smith won the medalist title and led the Rambelles to the team title Tuesday in the Angelo State Make Up women’s golf tournament at San Angelo Country Club.
Smith, a 2006 Permian High School graduate, shot rounds of 70 and 73 for a 36-hole total of 143, good for a five-shot victory over Tarleton State’s Carla Cooper (148).
It was the second medallist title of the fall season for Smith, who won two weeks ago at the UCO Broncho Classic in Edmond, Okla.
Angelo State captured the team title at 608, six shots better than Tarleton State (614) and well ahead of third-place St. Edward’s (626).
