Rambelles lose at NCAA Division II National Tournament

SALEM, VA. The Angelo State University softball team saw its chances for a national championship slip away Sunday when Alabama-Huntsville University defeated the Rambelles 10-0 in five innings in an elimination game at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Angelo State (50-10) could muster only three hits off Alabama-Huntsville (54-5) pitcher Whitney Hawkins, who ran her season record to 21-0.

Alabama-Huntsville scored twice in the first inning and then six times in the second inning off Rambelles pitcher Chelsea Nelson. Beth Lawson led the way with a 1-for-3 performance with two runs scored and three RBIs.
