Bill Myrick,
your host for Silvergrass & Purple Sage, started his performing career with Bill Monroe at the Grand Old Opry in 1949. After traveling and performing throughout the Texas Panhandle, Myrick moved to Odessa in 1951, where for many years he hosted live radio and television shows featuring bluegrass and oldtime music. He created and has hosted Silvergrass & Purple Sage on Odessa's KOCV-FM since 1994.
Myrick is known throughout West Texas as a tireless and enthusiastic promoter of bluegrass music.
