>> What: New Year's Eve Dinner and Dance Gala to benefit Mercy Trips: A healthcare outreach to Uganda Project at Kanginima Hospital.

>> Where: MCM Grandé Hotel FunDome.

>> When: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Buffet dinner will be served from

7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

>> Tickets: Presale tickets cost $40 for individuals, $70 for couples and tables are $400 and can be purchased at Texas Tech Health Science Center. Tickets at the door are $45 each.

>> What: New Year's Eve Bash 2009 for kindergarten-sixth graders.

>> Where: First United Methodist Church's Bible Zone Theater.

>> New Year's Eve Live on Fox: Spike Feresten and Mark Thompson direct the festivities. The show will feature ‘American Idol' winner David Cook and Grammy-winning musician Scott Weiland. Robbie Knievel caps off things with a stunt at midnight.        Starts at 10 p.m.

>> New Year's Eve Live  with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin on CNN: Correspondents will provide reports from celebrations across the country and around the world. Rapper Lil Wayne and Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd are set to perform.              Starts at 10

>> Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. on ESPN: If Times Square seems a little tame, motorcyclist Robbie Maddison and race car driver Rhys Millen will perform death-defying stunts from Las Vegas. immediately following the Chick-Fil-A Bowl at about 10 p.m.
