Some people today fear the move of God. In the story of herd of swine running down a steep place into the lake and drowned. (Luke 8:26-40). Jesus had set a man free of many demons. The man didn’t live in a house, wore no clothes and lived in the tombs where the dead stay. The demons often seized the man to the point; they tried to keep him bound with chains. The man broke the chains and the demons drove him into the wilderness. Now this story is a little to the extreme for us today. However, there are people today who are driven by uncontrollable sources. They are uncontrollable to them, but not uncontrollable to Jesus.

People who are not saved (not born again by the Spirit of God) they are driven. Some are driven by money, some by drugs, some by sex, some by prestige, entertainment, and some by a desire for power. They are dead spiritually. We cannot fight these things with flesh and blood (Eph.6:12). Man’s way can only suppress them. As soon as man’s ways are stopped, the terrible thing rises up again, then, the person is doomed to be addicted to the only help that man can give.

Jesus came by and commanded the demons to go. They went into the pigs and the pigs were driven to their death. Later the man was seen clothed, in his right mind and sitting at the feet of Jesus. Any desire, personality, habit or addiction that a person has no control over, or ,they just can’t help themselves, is being driven by another source. They are not in their right mind in that particular area.

When people are introduced to Jesus and accept what He has done for them, and they yield to him, they want to sit at his feet. Then they are clothed in a robe of righteousness and in their right mind. Their mind is renewed by reading the word (the Bible) then they can be led by the Spirit of God, not driven by other sources. They are alive spiritually.

When the people came and saw the wonderful work of God, they were afraid and asked Jesus to depart from them. People are still afraid when they see the miracles of God, the signs and wonders. Some do not even believe in miracles. The greatest miracle is the “Born Again” experience. Our little minds cannot conceive how the creator of the universe can come and live inside us. Jesus said; we must be born again

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Are we driven by circumstances or being led by the Holy Spirit? Jesus said “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). How can we follow him if we don’t hear His voice? “Every one that is of the truth heareth My voice” (John 18:37). Jesus made the way and paid the price, why not trust Him to set us free from any bondage that restricts us from the awesome plan God has for us.
