Despite what you may have heard, Ector County Coliseum officials said Mexican musician Juan Gabriel is not performing at the venue in November.

Aaron Martin, assistant director at the Ector County Coliseum, said he had seen several advertisements promoting the singer in an upcoming show on Nov. 16.

There’s just one problem: the county has no records of the show being booked.

“We have our annual Tejano Super Car Show,” Martin said. “He is not going to be here for that show.”

Martin said he wanted to warn residents that Gabriel would not be performing before anyone bought any tickets.

“I don’t know if it’s a misprint or if someone is trying to sell tickets … but I’d hate for anything to happen,” Martin said.
