SONORA Evan Moore threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Oscar Trevino as time expired Friday, lifting Alpine to a 26-25 win against Sonora in a District 3-2A Division II opener.

Jeremy Ontiveros caught three TD passes from Moore and finished with 142 receiving yards. Ontiveros also had two interceptions for the Fightin’ Bucks (5-1 overall, 1-0 district).

Sonora (4-2, 0-1) trailed 20-7 entering the fourth quarter but surged ahead with three touchdowns, the last of which came with 1 minute, 37 seconds remaining. But Alpine responded with a game-winning drive.
