Suspect arrested in connection to sex assault

WINK Winkler County Chief Deputy George Keely said Saturday that a fifth suspect was apprehended in connection to a Sept. 21 sexual assault that has been the subject of several café rumors through the county.

Jojo Taylor, 33, of 414 N. Rosey Dodd Ave., turned himself over to the sheriff deputies in Kermit and was charged with engaging in organized criminal conduct, aggravated sexual assault and deadly conduct in connection with the assault.

He is the stepbrother of Jason "Iceman" Vaught, 35, also of 414 N. Rosey Dodd Ave. Vaught was arrested Friday on the same charges, along with Pam White, 40, of 500 N. Rosey Dodd Ave., where the assault supposedly took place.

The three were being accused of knowingly allowing for the assault of a 16-year-old Kermit teen at White's house, Keely said. The two accused of the assault are Joel Chon Hernandez, 18, of 322 N. Roy Orbison Ave., and Anthony Lee Bishop, 17, who is White's son.

As of Saturday, Taylor, White and Vaught were given $40,000 bonds while Hernandez and Bishop were given $50,000 bonds on charges of aggravated sexual assault. Of the five, Taylor, White and Hernandez bonded out while Vaught and Bishop remained in the Winkler County Jail, Keely said.
