Grass fire near Wickett

A grassfire is burning near Wickett close to Interstate 20 and Ranch Road 1219.
A dispatcher with the Ward County Sheriff’s Office said volunteer firefighters from Wickett, Monahans and Grandfalls were alerted to the fire at about 9 p.m. Thursday and they are on the scene battling it, but he had little additional information.
The chiefs of the three fire departments were not immediately available for comment.
