United Way distributes funds
A total of 19 local nonprofit agencies are winners in the United Way of Odessa’s annual funding for Education, Health and Self-Sufficiency in the community.
A total of $1.1 million will be distributed to the 19 groups and will fund 29 total programs. A panel of United Way volunteers reviewed proposals from agencies requesting a total of more than $1.5 million.
The agencies selected include: American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club of Odessa, Boy Scouts of America Buffalo Trails Council, Communities in Schools, Christmas in Action, Camp Fire USA West Texas Council, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Center for Children and Families Inc., Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest, Harmony Home, Meals on Wheels, Odessa Day Nursery, Odessa Family Y, Odessa Links, Permian Basin Mission Center, Safe Place, The Crisis Center and The Salvation Army.
