    Traffic warrants

Two people were arrested on outstanding traffic warrants following a fight Tuesday night among Odessa College students near the Barn Door.

Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said Tatum Karlosia, 19 and Anthony Hunt, 19, were wanted on traffic warrants.

Karlosia was released on bonds with no fine amount. Hunt was being held Wednesday at the Ector County Detention Center on the warrants of driving an expired license and failure to attend school. Fines for Hunt total $440.

Police Sgt. Ricky Smith said officers pulled over a car leaving the fight, which originated in the student union cafeteria on the OC campus, and discovered that two of the people involved had outstanding traffic warrants.

While Karlosia and Hunt went to jail, OC campus police officer Robert Tager said the incident is under investigation.

"We’re looking into the matter," Tager said.

OC student Kiesha Johnson, an eyewitness to the incident said everything escalated following an argument with OC students and members of the Odessa College men’s basketball team.

After being asked to leave the cafeteria, Johnson said the other students arguing with the basketball players were "jumped" by the athletes starting a fight.

Since the campus is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Tager said a full report should be available on Monday.
