Voter registration delayed

Redistricting litigation has delayed the mailing of new voter registration certificates and as a result election administrators are unable to finalize electoral precincts. Voter registration cards that expired Dec. 31, 2011, are still valid however, officials at the Secretary of State report.
Cards will be renewed automatically for voters who do not have changes to their information. Voters who remain in the same county but have changed their address or name must re-register. Those who have moved to another county, must register no later than 30 days before election day.
No election dates have been announced.
