Police have interviewed a man, but no charges have been filed in connection to a reported sexual assault Wednesday morning.
Around 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Odessa police received an anonymous tip about a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle used in the assault, a news release said. Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle and interviewed him, OPD Media Relations Coordinator Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said.
Just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, officers visited a woman in central Odessa who said she was sexually assaulted around 10:30 a.m. The woman said a man offered her and a juvenile female a ride home, the release said.
Instead of taking her home, the man drove her to an isolated area near the south side of town and sexually assaulted her, the release stated. The juvenile was not assaulted or harmed.
The suspect is described as a 35- to 40-year-old Hispanic man weighing approximately 230 pounds. He is 5 feet 2 inches tall, has brown hair with slight gray in the front and has brown eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans and had a tan line around his eyes.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a 2005 to 2007 red Ford four-door pickup with black running boards. A white trailer with a silver stripe was attached to the truck, and there were mattresses in the bed of the truck.
