Trustees consider contracts
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Ector County Independent School District's board of trustees plans to meet Tuesday to canvass May 10 election results, swear new trustees in and consider approving about $4.7 million in contracts.
Trustees are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the ECISD boardroom at the ECISD Administration Building, 802 N. Sam Houston Ave.
Trustees will consider approving contracts for the following projects:
Estimated cabling contracts for:
>> Text warehouse for $36,440.49.
>> Food services for $56,890.11.
>> Testing warehouse for $33,750.79.
>> Murry Fly Elementary for $176,951.73 .
>> Alternative Education Center for $76,762.64.
>> Print shop for $52,273.29.
>> Zavala Elementary for $197, 574.46.
>> Tech Education for $95,455.58.
>> Permian High for $1.1 million.
>> Cavazos Elementary for $213, 231.62.
vFamily Education Center for $36, 667.27.
>> LBJ Elementary for $180,812.96.
>> Maintenance department for $87,819.88.
>> Transportation department for $42,496.41.
Estimated food bids for:
>> Gandy's for $1.6 million.
>> Various vendors for $288, 824.56.
Estimated frozen bids for:
>> Various vendors at $391, 725.93
Trustees plan to swear in the three new trustees who won in the May 10 election. Those trustees are: Position 4 Tom Pace, Position 5 Yollie Wilkins and Position 7 Donnie Norwood.
Prior to their regularly scheduled meeting, trustees plan to meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to hear a student transfer appeal for Royce Bunce.
During the regular meeting, trustees plan to consider approving a new Student Code of Conduct for the 2008-'09 school year, cabling and food bids, revisions to an educator's grant for an elementary school and a revised outline of dual or concurrent courses for Odessa College and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
