The Barbara Trenchard Foundation is accepting applications for two $10,000 scholarships for graduating seniors from West Texas and Southeast New Mexico high schools this year.
Information about the scholarship funds is available with area high school counselors.
The closing date for applications is April 10. The foundation also notes that students from Winkler and Andrews counties will have preference.
Barbara Trenchard was a graduate of Andrews High and a longtime resident of Kermit. She died from breast cancer in 2004. One of her goals was to eventually set up a scholarship fund — the Barbara Trenchard Foundation was created after her death.
