Boy Scouts taking applications for annual fund-raiser
It's three months away, but interest is already ramping up in the Boy Scouts of America Buffalo Trail Council's 2008 Pro‐Am Golf Tournament.
The Aug. 25 tournament has a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Hogan Park Golf Course in Midland. The tournaments is set up for a three-person amateur team with a pro as the fourth member - for those who don't know a pro, one will be provided.
Carts, golf shirts and two drink coupons will be furnished, as well as a barbecue dinner and awards ceremony to follow tournament. The registration deadline is Aug. 22, but the tournament is limited to the first 32‐fully paid teams
The funds raised from the event help to maintain three Boy Scout Camps, three Scout Service Centers and staff to help manage the program and provide service to each of the Cub Scout, Boy Scouts, Venturers and other program units within the council service area.
The cost is $660 per team.
