Homicide suspects face hearing
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Two of the five suspects connected to June 1's double homicide will have detention hearings Thursday, according to a docket released online from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Francisco Mata Sauseda and Armando Sauseda will both have their hearings at 2 p.m. Thursday. According to a news release earlier from the Odessa Police Department, they had federal weapons warrants when they were arrested. Both are currently in federal custody.
They and three other suspects were each charged with two counts of murder in connection to the killing of Jose Gardea and Steven Lee Soto on June 1.
Bot hwere in federal custody Tuesday. Two other suspects in the double homicide, Moises Marquez Jr. and Armando Sauseda Jr., were being held Tuesday in the Ector County Detention Center, each charged with two counts of murder and each being held on bonds totaling $500,000. The fifth suspect, a 15-year-old Hispanic male, was taken Thursday to the Ector County Youth Center.
According to police, numerous shots were fired at a vehicle Gardea and Sosa were in within the 1400 block of Anderson Avenue on the south side of Odessa.
