Trustees to discuss superintendent's goals

Superintendent Hector Mendez’s goals and ECISD’s business operations will be the subject of the board of trustees’ monthly special workshop meeting.
The presentation in business operations management oversight will allow board members to better familiarize themselves with the Business and Operations Department’s work and personnel, board president Tom Pace said.
“This will be an ongoing project,” Pace said.
Every three months the board will take a more in-depth look at a different department in ECISD to give board members a better understanding, Pace said.
Mendez’s goals have been discussed by the board in the past and will not be voted on at this meeting, the agenda stated.
Connecting Mendez’s goals with trustees’ goals with the district’s core beliefs was the subject of a September 2011 meeting, according to Odessa American records.
The monthly meeting is unrelated to concerns some ECISD faculty and community members expressed recently over district-wide changes, ECISD representative Mike Adkins said.
