Ready, Set, Teach! students from the Advanced Technical Center, Odessa High and Permian High made 500 placemats for Meals-on-Wheels. This is the 10th year the students provided the placemats for Meals on Wheels.

Ready, Set, Teach! students from the Advanced Technical Center, OHS and Permian delivered 500 placemats to Meals on Wheels on Monday. The students designed the placemats themselves.

It is the 10th year making the placemats, according to ATC Ready, Set, Teach! director Karen Broyles. Kristina Mendez's restaurant management class at the ATC assisted in the project.

"It is a service that the students enjoy doing for the community each year," Broyles said. "The students want the people who receive Meals on Wheels to know that someone cares about them during this holiday season and that they are not alone."

Students made each placemat by hand before decorating and signing each item. Each placemat is handmade, decorated and signed by a student with a personal message or poem.

Broyles said the placemats are laminated to last longer.
