A morning traffic accident kept an already slow Business Interstate 20 at a crawl just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Cpl. R.A. Blake the driver of a 1998 Dodge Ram, Gilbert Rodriguez, was eastbound in the 2700 block of East Second Street when he attempted to turn left into the 7-Eleven on the corner of Eight Street and Second Street.

Blake said the driver of a white 2003 Honda Civic, Kristen Allen, was headed west on the 2700 block of East Second Street when the vehicles collided.

"I was just coming to get some drinks, I turned in and boom!" Rodriguez said. "It happened so fast."

The pickup ended up on its side and both vehicles had to be towed away.

Blake said Rodriguez was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

    No injuries were reported.
