Man dies in train accident

BIG SPRING A 54-year-old Big Spring man died Wednesday night of injuries sustained when his truck collided with a train.

According to Big Spring police, about 6 p.m. Wednesday at the railroad crossing on Birdwell Lane a red Ford F-350 collided with a train, which pushed the truck one mile east of the intersection.

Roland Glenn Cate, the driver of the truck was flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock in critical condition, police said. He died at 8:13 p.m. at the hospital, police said.
