The University of Texas of the Permian Basin Spanish Literary Club next meeting is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at UTPB's multipurpose room
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The University of Texas of the Permian Basin Spanish Literary Club held a meeting Sept. 12 at the Cogdell Learning Center Lecture Hall in Midland. Antonio Erazo discussed the book ‘Batallas y batallitas en la historia de Colombia' (1993), by Colombian historian and writer Alfredo Iriarte. Rhina Toruño-Haensly was the moderator. All of those who attended the event learned about Colombian history from the beginning of the 20th Century. The discussion was included a power point presentation and maps of Colombia. The next meeting is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at UTPB's multipurpose room. It will be presented in conjunction with the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Guest speaker will be Hector Gonzalez, adjunct professor currently teaching ‘Chicanas and Chicanos in Film' at the East Los Angeles College. He is an Emmy Award winner, musician, recording artist, music producer and owner of The Rampart Record Group & The Faro Music Publishing Group, The Home of the West Coast Eastside Sound.
