Monahans drug arrest
Authorities arrest Monahans man on federal cocaine charges
A Monahans man is facing federal charges as he sat Saturday in the Ector County Detention Center following a Friday afternoon arrest at his home.
Midland Drug Enforcement Agency resident agent Dante Sorianello said William Adams was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy. He is scheduled to see a judge Monday for arraignment.
Sorianello said that at about 4 p.m. Friday, DEA agents went to 301 S. Gary Ave. in Monahans on a search warrant and arrested Adams there. Though no cocaine was actually found in the house, Sorianello said Adams was linked to an ongoing drug investigation that began in January.
That investigation led to a total of five arrests, Sorianello said, but he could not recall the names of the other suspects Saturday. Sorianello said Adams was the last of the suspects being sought in the case.
He deferred further questions to U.S. District Attorney John Klassen. Klassen's office was closed Saturday and he could not be reached for comment.
