ECSO investigating skeletal remains

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of discovered skeletal remains in the 6300 block of Trunk Street on Friday, but they still aren't sure what the bones belong to.

Workers called the Sheriff's Office and said they found partial skeletal remains in the area at around 3:30 p.m. Friday, an Ector County Sheriff’s Office news release stated.

Investigators have not yet determined if the remains are human or animal, the release stated. The remains have been sent to the University of North Texas in Denton for further examination, the release stated.

Sgt. Gary Duesler said the office isn't investigating the remains as related to any particular case, but he expects to have an update about more particulars by about 10 a.m. Monday.
