Summer on ice
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Summer is rapidly coming to a close for most area youth with classes beginning at Odessa schools Monday. Students in marching band, football, volleyball, and other fall sports have been practicing for a couple of weeks and some have even competed already.
A few area youth found a cool way to spend some time during the last week of summer by skating at the MCM Ice Wednesday afternoon. Many of them were practicing figure skating routines or skating to stay in shape for hockey, but there were also those who were skating for the first or second time; hugging the railing as they shuffled around the rink.
Beginning Monday, public skating hours will change on weekdays as kids return to school. The MCM Ice will open at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, while maintaining their current weekend hours.
