Ector County Sheriff Department Crime Scene Investigator Mike Finnerty, top, and Investigator Diane Lara, collect evidence following a shooting Friday afternoon at 3770 W. 15th Street.

A man was shot in the left foot Friday afternoon in West Odessa, sheriff deputies on scene and a witness said.

Ector County sheriff Sgt. Gary Duesler said the man, identified by Odessan Raymond Madden as Clint Gray, was taken to Medical Center Hospital's emergency room where he was listed in stable condition.

Deputies were called to 3770 W. 15th St. at 1:27 p.m. Duesler said at least three shots were fired at Gray with one of them hitting his left foot.

Madden, who is Gray's stepfather, did not actually witness the shooting but said Gray told him a car stopped in front of the house. Gray described the driver as a white male and the passenger, who was the gunman, as a Hispanic male who pulled out a pistol and started shooting at him while Gray was standing on the steps near the front door.

Gray told him "this guy was holding something between his legs" just before the shooting started, Madden said.

Sheriff deputies have no suspects in the shooting, which was still under investigation Friday. No description of the vehicle was available either.
