Pre-trial set

A pre-trial hearing has been set in Val Verde County for an Odessa man facing an intoxicated manslaughter charge in connection with a Nov. 17, 2008, accident that killed a Permian High School senior in Del Rio.
A clerk at the Val Verde County District Clerk’s office said that Jason Randall Bushong’s hearing is set for 9 a.m. Friday. She said so far no plea has been recorded from Bushong.
Bushong was charged in connection with the death of Kaleigh Renee Dunn. Department of Public Safety Trooper Ramiro Nava said in November that Bushong, then 21, was heading east on U.S. Highway 90 early Nov. 17 when the trooper saw Bushong’s pickup swerving. The pickup struck a guardrail, rolled over and landed on its passenger side. Dunn was thrown out of the truck and pinned underneath it, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
